The Manitoba Association of Volunteer Administrators (MAVA) and the Volunteer Management Professionals of Canada (VMPC) are pleased to announce the dates and location of this year’s annual conference!
Taking place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, from May 30th to June 1st, this conference is the premier professional development event for volunteer management professionals in Canada. Over the course of 3 days, you will have an opportunity to connect with colleagues from across the country and gain new ideas and inspiration to help you transform your volunteer programs!

Keynote Address - Angela Cassie
In her role as Vice-President, Public Affairs and Programming, at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, Angela Cassie leads a team that delivers world-class public and educational programming and positions the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) nationally and internationally through effective communications and marketing campaigns. She works with local, national and international tourism partners to profile Canada and Winnipeg as a destination, with the CMHR as a draw. She also leads the organization’s partnership and government relations functions. Angela first joined the CMHR in 2008 and as a member of the museum’s inaugural leadership team, she was instrumental in opening the CMHR.
Panel Presentation - Human Rights in the Workplace
Everyone has the right to a workplace that is free from discrimination and harassment, including volunteers. Join Manitoba Human Rights Commission Chairperson, Brenlee Carrington Trepel, Commissioner Diane Dwarka and Executive Director, Isha Khan for a discussion about human rights and how to create a respectful and inclusive work environment.
More info on sessions will be released in the coming weeks with presenters coming from across Canada.

Full Conference member rate is $350.00 (must be a member of MAVA or VMPC)
Full Conference non-member rate is $425.00
- Registration includes a sector tour, entrance to the Welcome Reception at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and two full days of learning.
One-Day member rate is $150.00 (must be a member of MAVA or VMPC)
One-Day non-member rate is $225.00
- Registration includes one day of sessions, either Thursday, May 31st or Friday, June 1st, 2018
Welcome Reception at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights – May 30 | 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
- One ticket to the welcome reception on May 30 is included in the rate for the full conference.
- Individuals can purchase additional tickets for a guest (colleague, supervisor, partner) or to add to the One-Day conference rate. Tickets are $50.00.
