Who is Involved:
Volunteers are engaged in all areas of today's society, so our members are a diverse group. They represent hospitals, schools, social service agencies, cultural, recreation and health promotion organizations, government and other non-profit organizations.
The purpose of MAVA is to unite individuals involved in the administration of volunteer services and programs in a professional association that:
- promotes volunteer administration as a profession
- provides opportunities for the exchange of knowledge and experience in the administration of volunteer services and programs
- promotes professional standards, education, growth and development
MAVA Board Values
Professionalism - Volunteer management is a recognized profession
and members are encouraged to uphold the standards of professional
and ethical behavior and enhance personal expertise through professional
development activities.
Leadership Opportunities - Participation in the Association as a Board
of Director, committee member and member of the Association provides
the opportunity for enhancement and continued development of leadership
skills. Members are encouraged to share their skills through involvement
in the Association.
Diversity - We strive to assure that the Board of Directors is comprised of
professionals from all segments of our membership and from the voluntary field.
As a whole the Board represents different talents, skills, experience, interests
and backgrounds.
